I felt more loved and at home with you guys than I feel around my family during the holidays. Nights like Saturday are what Christmas is all about.

My buddy Jen thanking me for our party the other night. I’m so glad we could spread the love around! It’s one of the main reasons I love this time of year. There’s nothing I enjoy more than having all the people I care about in one place enjoying each other’s company. I could care less about Santa or Jesus, give me my family and I’m a happy girl.

Why I love this time of year so much…

I think it’s because it brings me back to a time in my life (childhood) where things were for the most part normal. My parents were together and hiding their dysfunctions from my sister and I fairly well. There was still fun, magic and Santa. My father really went out of his way to make Christmas special for us.

It’s kinda bittersweet when I think about it now…I know there was a time in my life when my dad was my hero and not a selfish abusive asshole. Sometimes I wish I never made that realization.

C’est la vie.
